David Winkler

Associate

David Winkler is a seasoned litigator who comes to the firm after cutting his teeth defending a diverse array of clients ranging from multibillion-dollar global conglomerates to ultra-prestigious educational institutions to individual defendants facing lengthy prison sentences.

Before joining ChaudhryLaw PLLC, David spent years practicing with the Litigation group of one of the top white-shoe law firms in the world, as well as two other Chambers- and AmLaw-ranked multinational law firms. During that time, he worked on a wide variety of matters including multifaceted Department of Justice and SEC proceedings, FTC and CFTC investigations, large-scale securities fraud class actions, high-stakes corporate governance disputes, civil rights lawsuits, wrongful termination cases, complex appeals, and broadly scoped criminal and civil internal investigations. He has also co-authored multiple amicus curiae briefs before the U.S. Supreme Court.

In addition, David’s background includes an extended federal judicial clerkship at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, a pro bono-oriented fellowship focusing on government transparency issues and litigation, and a law-school internship with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois.

David received his law degree from the University of Chicago. Before that, he was a classically trained stage actor, having received his training (and undergraduate degree) at Northwestern University and the British-American Drama Academy.
