Staff

Legal Assistant – Full-Time

The Legal Assistant position provides overall administrative support to attorneys and paralegals.

Responsibilities:

  • Be first point of contact with guests and clients: answer phones, greet clients, offer refreshments;
  • Set up and maintain conference room for meetings; 
  • Order, unpack, and organize supplies;
  • Help keep our gorgeous office running smoothly;
  • Help maintain calendar  and schedule meetings;
  • Court and errand runs;
  • Help maintain organization of files;
  • Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • At least 2 years of previous experience in an office environment;
  • Deadline- and detail-oriented;
  • Proven ability to strictly follow procedures and manuals; 
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask; 
  • Strong work ethic;
  • Friendly, upbeat, and can-do personality.

Attorneys

Mid-Level Associate – Full-Time

The Mid-Level Associate position will work directly with partners and collaborate with other attorneys to represent clients in legal proceedings, draft and file legal documents, advise clients, and try cases. 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct client contact and primary relationship with client; 
  • Represent clients in court and before government agencies;
  • Research, prepare, and draft legal documents on behalf of clients; 
  • Negotiate settlements for legal disputes;
  • Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law, including providing oversight to less-experienced attorneys.

Qualifications:

  • JD from Top-15 law school;
  • NY State bar admission required;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • At least 4 years of legal experience, preferably in criminal defense/investigations, or 3 years plus a judicial clerkship;
  • Strong interest in criminal law and jury trial work;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to build rapport with clients.
