Awais Arshad holds the unique distinction of being admitted into the bars of three jurisdictions: New York, England & Wales, and Pakistan.
Awais earned his law degree, LL.B. (Hons), from BPP University, London, United Kingdom, in 2014 with Upper Second-Class Honours. Subsequently, as a member of The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, he completed his Bar Professional Training Course and was awarded a classification of Very Competent. He was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 2016.
From 2017 to 2019, Awais clerked for the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa. In the course of his clerkship, he assisted with the adjudication of thousands of criminal cases, which strongly developed and sharpened his understanding of criminal law. As an attorney, he is licensed to practice in New York and before the District Courts and Court of Appeals in Pakistan. He has conducted numerous trials and has also worked as an appellate attorney.
Awais has taught law for two years at the Millennium Universal College and School of International Law.
The United States Department of State awarded Awais the Fulbright Scholarship in 2019 to pursue an LL.M. at Columbia University. Awais graduated in 2021 as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, awarded in recognition of academic achievement.
